ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The SAP Project Manager defines project scope, objectives, and timelines, leading cross-functional teams and coordinating stakeholders. They manage risks, monitor project progress, ensure compliance with quality standards, and develop change management strategies. Responsibilities include project execution, documentation, vendor management, and overseeing testing and cutover activities. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, providing direction to team members, and ensuring successful SAP implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Scope Definition: Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
- Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage cross-functional project teams including SAP consultants, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders. Provide direction, guidance, and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including business leaders, project sponsors, and external partners. Communicate project status, risks, and issues, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery. Proactively address issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, and escalate as necessary.
- Project Execution and Monitoring: Monitor project progress, milestones, and deliverables to ensure adherence to project plans and timelines. Track project budget and resource utilization, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that SAP S/4HANA implementations adhere to quality standards, best practices, and industry regulations. Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess project quality and compliance
- Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate organizational change and adoption of SAP S/4HANA solutions. Engage stakeholders and end-users to ensure smooth transition to new processes and systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation including project plans, status reports, issue logs, and change requests. Provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders and leadership team.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with SAP implementation partners, consultants, and vendors. Define project deliverables, expectations, and performance metrics, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Testing & Cutover planning activities monitoring.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Provide remote/onsite SAP consulting services to key SAP customers on innovation products.
- Be actively involved in the preparation, design, realization and Go Live of customer implementation projects.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, run, and manage workshops/meetings with internal and external clients.
- Providing a creative source of ideas/solutions to address customer issues.
- Execution of innovation portfolio serving as primary contact from Customer Success service areas to deploy and implement solutions.
- Proceed with IMG configuration; design/execute implementation packages (e.g., RDS´s, best practices implementation guides).
- Get involved with customer scenarios, be able to understand business needs and discuss best approaches to help them.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience managing SAP S/4HANA implementation projects, including full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, modules, and functionalities. SAP certification or relevant training is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with agile or hybrid project management methodologies is desirable.
- Ability and good will to pick up knowledge in new areas.
- Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
